Contractor/Visitor Badges
TigerCard Services provides badges for contractors and visitors who require regular access to campus. The badge will identify the individual by name and photo, the department or company the contractor/visitor will be working for, as well as the name of the Princeton University sponsor. Badges will be issued for periods of up to one year and may be renewed as appropriate. The cost of each badge is $20, which will be charged against a University account.
As of 12/1/2019 Casual employees hired though HR no longer need a visitor card requested. Casual employees can visit the office 24-48 hours after paperwork has been completed with HR to obtain their card.
How to request a badge
The sponsoring University department's Building Access Coordinator (BAC) or Department Access Facilitator (DAF) must submit a completed Request a Contractor/Visitor Badge form. Required information includes:
- Cardholder name, birthdate, company name, department, supervisor and expiration date. It is the responsibility of the sponsor to collect all expired badges;
- A University chart string to pay for the $20 fee;
- Access and parking needs are collected via this form, so please provide all building access and parking related information.
After requests are approved, photos not submitted through the form can be taken at TigerCard Services, Transportation and Parking Services located on the A Floor of New South at the time the badge is issued. Applicants must present a driver's license or other form of government-issued identification before a badge will be produced. Individual contractor employees can acquire their badges on a drop-in basis. The time required to produce an ID is typically less than five minutes. For groups of more than five people, advance notice is recommended. Scheduling visits for in-office ID badge services can be arranged by contacting the TigerCard Services (258-8300) or by sending an email request to: [email protected].
